The Cultural Intelligence Workshop

Cultural intelligence isn’t theory. It’s how your team works.

Most cultural intelligence training teaches frameworks. This workshop builds the actual skill — the ability to read, adapt, and collaborate across cultural difference in real time. A practical intercultural competence workshop built around your team’s specific mix of cultures, not a generic model. Designed for international teams where cross-cultural intelligence is a strategic capability, not a tick-box exercise.

Why most CQ training doesn’t stick

Your team has done the training. The friction is still there.

They know the theory but can’t apply it

People learn about high context vs low context, individualism vs collectivism, power distance. They pass the assessment. Then Monday arrives and the same misunderstandings happen. The cultural intelligence framework sits in a folder. The friction stays in the room.

The frameworks are about countries, not people

Cultural intelligence is not “the Germans are like this, the Japanese are like that.” Real teams are more complex — people carry multiple cultural identities and the generic country-level models don’t address what’s actually happening between real colleagues in your room.

There’s no shared language for what’s happening

The team can feel the cultural friction but can’t name it. Without a shared way to talk about cultural difference, people default to personality explanations — “she’s just difficult” — instead of seeing the cultural pattern underneath.

What we build together

Practical cultural intelligence. Specific to your team.

Your team’s cultural map — we surface the actual cultural styles present in the room: how people communicate, give feedback, make decisions, build trust, and relate to authority. Not theory — the real dynamics operating right now.

Where difference becomes friction — naming the specific points where cultural styles clash in your team’s day-to-day work. The meeting that never reaches a decision. The feedback that offends. The email that gets misread.

How to read and adapt in real time — the core CQ skill. Not memorising country profiles but developing the ability to notice when a cultural pattern is at play and adjust your approach in the moment.

A shared operating framework — concrete norms your team builds together for how you’ll communicate, decide, and give feedback across the cultural mix you actually have. Owned by the team, not imposed by the facilitator.

How it works

One day. Built around your team.

Step 01

Pre-workshop diagnostic

A conversation with the team lead plus a short questionnaire for each team member. I understand the team composition, the working patterns, and where the cultural complexity actually sits — before we’re in the room together.

Step 02

Full-day workshop

In-person, with the team. We work through structured exercises that surface the cultural dynamics operating in your team — not abstract scenarios, your actual situations. Teams up to 12.

Step 03

Follow-up and embedding

Two weeks after the workshop, a check-in call to review what’s changed, what’s stuck, and whether the shared framework needs adjusting. For teams that want deeper support, this can lead into ongoing advisory.

Right for you if

You’re building a team that works across cultures — not just sits across cultures.

  • You’re expanding internationally and want your team to work well together from the start, not learn through painful mistakes
  • You’ve done cultural awareness sessions before but they haven’t changed how the team actually operates
  • You’re onboarding people from new cultural backgrounds and want to set the right norms early
  • You want your managers to develop real cultural intelligence, not just tick a box

Not sure if this is the right format? The discovery call is where we figure that out together.
